Moisturizers

Moisturizers are all the rage right now. Some are being advertised as the greatest thing on earth. Be it a hypoallergenic product, or it is a natural humectant, or whatever other fancy terms are used to sell them.

The reality is that moisturizers do help your skin by doing one thing. They give your skin moisture. Whatever greasy substance the products have helps retain that moisture. It is important to note that dry skin itself is not something to be medically worried about. Severe cases can lead to cracks and infections. In these cases, you should consult your Dermatologist.

How Moisturizers work

Most moisturizers out on the market are made of an oil-in-water combination. When you apply your lotion or cream, some of the water in the product will evaporate upon application.

It is best to use moisturizers after a shower so that you can lock in that moisture from your shower onto your skin. Without locking any moisture in your skin will still be dry but may look greasy and dry. Not a good combination.

Why are humectants important?

Humectants work great in moisturizers. Their ability to extract water even from the air but comes at a cost. When there is little moisture to pull in these ingredients will pull water from your skin. Making it even drier.

So it is recommended to use something that can trap and lock moisture into your skin.

What do we recommend

Here at Sweet Luxury Body Line, we recommend any of our two Luxury Moisturizers.

Both are made with 4 ingredients or less. Both are made with humectants and ingredients that will lock moisture into your skin. Making them ideal for dry skin.

Our Whipped Shea Body Butter is made by whipping raw unrefined Shea butter until it is velvety soft.

Then it's combined with coconut oil, arrowroot powder, and essential oil blends. This is how we make the market's most sought-after Shea Body Butter.

Now our Beeswax Lotion Bars are just the thing for stubbornly dry areas.

Our lotion bar is made with raw unrefined Shea butter. Locally sourced beeswax, jojoba oil, and essential oil blends.

This is how we are able to create our magical healing beeswax lotion bar.

Both of these moisturizers are crafted to attract moisture and lock it in. Which as we know is what we want to fight dry skin.

What have we learned?

We have learned that most lotions and creams are made out of oil in water combinations. This leads to water evaporating upon application.

We also learned that humectants attract moisture but it does no good if you can't lock in that moisture.

If you are dealing with dry skin try out one of our luxurious moisturizers crafted to bring your skin back to life.

It's not about skincare it's about feeling comfortable in the skin you're in.
