Day Routine v Night Routine As A Man

As a man, I can't remember the last time anyone talked about the importance of having skincare routines. Much less what the difference between a day and a night routine is.
It is a good idea to have both so you can get the best results possible. Sure I agree with that sentiment. But not everyone knows that and as a male in this industry, I feel it is up to me to talk about these things so that every man knows it.
First things first. I am a low-effort type of guy so for me sticking to the basics matters the most. I do not need a complicated step riden routine because I know myself and I won't follow it. Sticking to the basics has helped the most.
Morning Routines.
Most of us spend the day coming and going from different environments being exposed to things like the sun, pollution, sweat and grime. The goal is to protect your skin from being damaged by limited exposure to these elements.
Cleanser - washes off oil and sweat that accumulated overnight.
Toner - balances your PH levels and helps tighten pores.
Serums - contain antioxidants like Vitamin C that help fight environmental damage
Moisturizer - hydrates and creates a barrier to help protect
Sunscreen - most important/nonnegotiable - UV is the main cause of aging and skin damage why do we fail to protect it?
Night Routines.
Nigh-time is the time your skin rejuvenates itself. It is a good idea to feed it and prepare it for the healing ahead.
Cleanser - wash off dirt oil and sweat spf and pollutants
Exfoliant 2-3x/week - removes dead skin cells. Helps with ingrown hairs and hydrates overnight
Toner - helps prepare your skin for serums and moisturizers and helps tighten pores.
Serums - Hydraulonic acid is used for hydration, retinol and peptides to repair or targeted treatments and you are good to go.
Moisturizer - locks in all the good stuff and hydrates overnight.
If you are shaving regularly, consider products that soothe and prevent irritation like aloe, niacinamide and aftershave balms.
Let me tell you something about the first couple of days when you start doing a skincare routine. For me, it took a couple of days to try and get over touching my face. And I did not even realize how much I touch my face until I used Beeswax Lotion Bar and SPF that I can feel a layer on my face. Something I did not feel before, so it has made me super concious of touching my face. It's a lot. And then I also experienced all these new sensations as my skin was healing and hydrating. Such new sensations. No burning, no itching or discomfort. More like ooooo this is new. I like that because it means my skin is being replenished, while protecting and even gently exfoliating. This is why I always recommend these amazing, miracle Beeswax Lotion Bars for everything from your feet to your face.
So what's my routine if I stick to only the basics? Cleanser, Moisturizer and SPF during the day. That is it. Nothing more nothing less. At least for now. But I am getting older so those serums and acids are calling my name louder and louder every day. When I begin exploring with those I will let you guys know. Until now. Take care of your most important organ you have. Your skin!
